Early 1930s Warren Wanderers Football team included Frankie Mello, Lou Bernardo, and Jimmy Daniels. In 1931 they tied the undefeated East Providence Coronas; the previous season they had defeated the Riverside-based eleven on a Mello touchdown, 6-0.

1932 Leo Sevigny traveled to Northern Rhode Island and joined with a number of professionals to help Chepachet down Slatersville. Batting cleanup, he went two for three before breaking his leg and losing out on a scheduled 1933 tryout with the Boston Red Sox.
