Early 1930s Warren Wanderers Football team included Frankie Mello, Lou Bernardo, and Jimmy Daniels. In 1930 they used a Mello touchdown to defeat the Riverside-based East Providence Coronas, 6-0. The following season they only tied their-then undefeated opponents, as Rick Vitullo was stopped on the six-inch line early in the game. (Mello and Vitullo are members of the Athletic Hall of Fame.)
