1950 The Young (Slick) and the Old (Nick) Cariglias, both members of the Athletic Hall of Fame, played for State Championship high school baseball teams. Nick also starred for the 1942 Providence College nine that won the Eastern Collegiate Summer Championship, but Slick/Mike one-upped his older brother, playing for the 1952 Holy Cross team that captured the NCAA National title.

1952 The Ellis Buick-Asselin Chevrolet Yankees were the first championship Little League Baseball team. Pictured were Coach Larry Larivee, Jim "Shoes" Abbruzzi, John "Mouse" Jannitto, Peter Guimelli, Ed Galuska, Joe Lamarca, Ray Rossi, Pete MacDougall, Kenny Ferreira, Fred Dyer, George "Chico" Andrade, Bobby Bento, John Lamora, Walt Nencka, Mickey O'Brien and Manager Hubert "Ditty" Drainville. 1952 Jim Barry took batting practice for Class A Lima, Ohio. This was the year that Jim "emulated" Chit Beauregard, returning to first base without touching second; the base umpire "inexplicably" called him out. Jim was an All State outfielder for Warren High in 1946 and 1948, but due to problems caused by youthful exuberance, did not finish the 1947 season. (Barry and Beauregard are both members of the Athletic Hall of Fame.)

1952 Robert "Buzz" Barry was the Maine-New Brunswick Baseball League's second leading hitter while playing for Grand Falls. As Warren High's second baseman, Hall of Famer Buzz was named to the 1948 All State squad. He was one of only two Rhode Islanders to play in the New England All Star game that summer.

He is a member of the Athletic Hall of Fame. (Along with fellow Warrenites Luther Blount, Rip Higgins, Chief Massasoit, Charlie Millard, and Lizzie Murphy, Pat is a member of the Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame.
