Peter A. Picerelli (Athlete, Class of 2024)
When the Providence Journal named its All-Decade football teams, they had this to say about Peter Picerelli, “(he is) one of the most prolific kicking talents the state has ever had; one of the few game-changing punters in Rhode Island Interscholastic history.”
Having been chosen 1st All State punter from La Salle High School in both 2010 and 2011, he was ranked as the 12thNational High School Punting Recruit by Top Recruit.
Peter then punted for the next four seasons at Tulane University, setting the University’s single season and career records for punts and punting yards. He finished his career with a per punt average of 41.25 yards, thus cementing his position in the school’s five-best punters ever.
Post college, he began as a quality control analyst for the Brown University football team, briefly worked with the Boston College eleven, and joined the Washington Redskins player personnel staff in 2017. For the last six years, he has been a college scout for the NFL’s now-named Commanders.
