JENNIFER SALAMON MORIN (Athlete, Class of 2002)
The only swimmer ever to represent Warren High School, Jen Salamon captured All State honors in 1990, 1991, and 1992, setting state girls records in both the fifty and one hundred-yard freestyle in her senior year. Called by the Providence Journal “the fastest female swimmer in the state (in 1992),” Jen qualified for the United States Junior Olympics in the one hundred-meter butterfly.
She then enrolled at the University of Connecticut where she achieved such honors as Woman Swimmer of the Week, Outstanding Freshman Swimmer, Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) individual and team champion, New England individual and team champion, and the Big East Conference Champion in the one hundred-yard butterfly. She still holds the University’s record in this latter event.
Jen was named All Big East (twice) and All ECAC. She was a member of Connecticut’s ECAC and/or New England Women’s Swimming and Diving Champions in 1994, 1995, and 1996.
Named by the UConn Club as an Outstanding Senior Athlete in 1996, she is a member of the University of Connecticut Swimming Hall of Fame.
